Our Secrecy

Oathbound Material

The CTG is an oathbound tradition, and maintains secrecy in the same way as do many other traditions. This is done in order to preserve the wonder, mystery, sacredness, and power for all seekers. Without this secrecy, we run the risk of our path becoming a commodity with no more mystery than a dictionary. While many will insist that materials in oathbound traditions may be found in any selection of published material, it is the discipline of maintaining secrecy, coupled with the precise pattern of enacting the rites and practices, that enables the seeker to explore the Outer Mysteries, while finding the Inner Mysteries for themselves.

Ours is simultaneously an individual and group spiritual quest, not a text with words to be memorized and repeated by rote. Just as being told that Santa Claus isn't real took some joy from your childhood, a life without mystery drains the magick and wonderment from the world.

The path is available to those who choose to apply themselves to study and growth. Magick and faith are part of this discipline, the mastery of which occurs over time. Just as small children are protected from playing with matches, ensuring that students are properly prepared to accept esoteric knowledge is the solemn duty of CTG High Priestesses and Priests.

Like many other traditions, we use initiation and qualified teachers as gatekeepers for the protection of the seeker. When a seeker is prepared and when they approach the path with maturity and responsibility, the path will be made available to them through a qualified teacher.
